Sooty Welsh has moved back to his hometown of Coonamble after moving around, mostly in Sydney. As part of the Stolen Generation, his recent six years in Coonamble are the longest time he’s ever spent on the land of his ancestors.

Frank Wright

Frank Wright’s artwork has made him the man he is today as he will happily tell visitors to Walgett, where he was born and currently works and exhibits.

George Williams

George Williams, originally from Brewarrina, visited Walgett in 1979 to visit the family, and twenty years later calls Walgett home to himself, his five children and his eighteen grandchildren. A Barkindji man on his mother’s side, his art derives from his cultural heritage.
